WATCH: 'Earning' Your Vulnerability with Christina Glickman

I chat with THE BOARD's Head of Community & Experience about growing older, wiser and free of toxic corporate conditioning.

“Some of the best things in life happened to me because I was willing to take the risk. One of them was calling you.”

Christina Glickman is an open book—and it’s her vulnerability that truly is her superpower: “the cost of not being vulnerable is huge, really.”

Christina and I talk just about every day, as she is Head of Community & Experience and my constant co-pilot at THE BOARD. But bringing our usual back-and-forth to the livestream this past week felt so powerful and relatable. She shared about our first chance meeting, her urge to voice-note me when I was on the candidate search, and her intention to display imperfection with her kids on the daily.

Christina has done big things across varied industries—from big agency days in Chicago to building her media platform, I’m Not Dead, alongside Sarah Clary. And through it all, she’s found a clear common thread: the impact of admitting vulnerability. But too often, women can’t lay claim to it until they’ve put in enough work, enough years. “Why do we have to earn the right to be vulnerable?” she asks.

If this lights you up, I encourage you to pull up a seat and watch this 20-minute chat.

…and tell us in the comments: how has the ability to be vulnerable (or lack-thereof) affected you? Share!!
